Reedkit is quite a simple cat when it comes to his looks. The only color you will see on this tom’s pelt is black. He has no spots, stripes, or markings, just his plain black fur. He still has the fluffy fur from kithood, and it looks as if he might not ever outgrow it. The young tom’s nose is even black. When it comes to his ears, they are quite pointy and have a salmon pink color in the inside.
When it comes to his frame, it is quite short, much like his legs. Reedkit was not built for speed, like most RiverClan cats, and due to his fear of the water you will not see his fur wet if he can help it. The tom’s whiskers are actually on the long side, and look very cute when they are twitching in excitement. Finally we come to his eyes. They are a yellowish color with green speckles around the pupil, and really show when night falls.
Personality:
Sweet, Fearful, Follower, Low self-esteem
Reedkit is one of those cats that is very sweet and does pretty much what he is told. The one day he decided to be brave and try to stand out from everyone else, it backfired and he was almost killed. Ever since the day at the river, Reedkit has been afraid of water. When it rains, Reedkit seeks shelter and just shivers with fear. Puddles aren’t too much better and are just as scary. He absolutely hates the river and he freezes with fear when he has to go. He does all he can to avoid patrols going that direction (when he is old enough). The same day damaged his self-esteem, and now he has very little.
He’s not one that likes the spotlight or likes attention. He tries to stay out of everyone’s way and stay under the radar. Reedkit is a follower, not a leader. He stood a better chance at becoming a leader before the incident, but that whole incident changed his perception about life. He now relies on his brothers heavily. They are what keep him whole. Without them, he would surely fall apart. The poor tom was just traumatized so much that he just carries on as best as he can each day.
History:
Reedkit was born into what would be his mother’s first litter, but his father’s second. His father had a kit from a previous litter, Boulderkit. His brother was a little over five moons when Reedkit’s litter was born. Reedkit was born with another tom in his litter, named Nightkit. Both were black toms with fluffy fur.
Reedkit was your average little kit, he played with his siblings and was loved by his parents. He enjoyed spending as much time with everyone as possible before the day was over. Reedkit was very active and would play all day if he was allowed. Reedkit was only a troublemaking kit when it came to being around his brothers. If they were not there and Reedkit didn’t want to show them he was just like them, he would have stayed in the nursery and been content. When Boulderkit was made an apprentice, Reedkit was slightly sad but he still had his littermate to play with.
One day, Reedkit’s whole world changed. His brother, Nightkit, had an adventure for the kits to go on, and Reedkit was excited. He was going to show his brother what he could do! Reedkit loved the river, he could sit and stare at it all day. When Nightkit lead them to the river, the black furred kit was excited. While playing in the water, he lost his footing. Reedkit fell off the rock, and slipped into the river. He pretty much had lost consciousness by the time he was rescued by his mother, and was thankful his brother had ran to get her. He came very close to dying. Reedkit stayed in the medicine cats den for quite some time before he recovered completely. He just recently was deemed well enough to return to the nursery.
Reedkit no longer liked the river and now is very scared of it. Not only that, but his fear of water has grown also. He is a RiverClan cat that refuses to learn how to swim, or to enjoy water.
