Hawkstar strecthed in the Nursery. She got up and padded out of the den, into the main camp. Everyone else was awake by now, it was Sunhigh. She had gotten back late the night before, having to go and recieve her nine lives.
Hawkstar leaped onto the ledge, "All cats of WindClan, gather here for a clan meeting." She waited patiently for her clan-mates.

Jaguar paw padded towards his new leader to eagerly listen to what she had to say. He always felt so mature because her could attend theses little clan meetings.
At first it was just gentle prodding, but it soon became more and more of a harder prod. As more time went on, the prods continued to be harder. Just when he almost decided to open his eyes, he felt something crash into his side. One green eye opened slightly and it was followed quickly by the other when the weirdest sight caught his eye. His younger sister was trying to ram into him, using her entire body. Just before she could try that again, he yawned and stretched. Well…at least now he was awake. Pigeonpaw stared at his sister, still slightly confused at what she was doing. If it had been anyone else trying to get him up, he would have easily turned over and fell back to sleep. It was just something about Rainpaw that had him wrapped around her paw. And all his sister did was look at him, with that big grin of hers and say, “Hi.” That was all it took for him to grin back. He really did need to learn to scold, or to just say no to her. But that was impossible. If only he could live in her mind, it was just so happy and pure.
Pigeonpaw yawned as he watched his sister bouncing around him, where did she get this energy? ”Did you need something or are you just bored and need me to do something?” he asked with a yawn. He watched his sister sit down and think for a moment. With a sigh, he knew her attention was gone. Waving his tail in her face did nothing, but grabbing her scruff with his teeth got a reaction. It wasn’t hard enough to hurt, but enough to get her to look at him. It was those blue eyes that got him every time. He knew her brain would catch up with his question in a moment. He waited for her answer, being quite patient. He watched her eyes light up as she remembered.
”Oh, there was a clan meeting called and I thought you would want to go.” she mewed with that bright smile. Pigeonpaw just glared at her. Really…he was awoken for that? Couldn’t she have just gone and told him what was going on? Then again it probably was mandatory. Why didn’t she wake him earlier? Well it wasn’t like he was going to scold her or anything. The tom just nodded, agreeing that he would go with her. And that was all she was waiting for.
His sister just walked away and towards the summoning, her paws bouncing off the ground with each step. Pigeonpaw sighed as he followed slowly after, and plonking down, nodding slightly as he saw the familiar sight of another fellow apprentice, Jaguarpaw. He shook his head and smiled slightly as Rainpaw managed to wedge herself in between himself and Jaguarpaw. She grinned at the other tom and leaned into her brother as she watched, hoping she could find her other siblings to sit by. Even the tip of her tail was twitching with excitement.

"I know I didn't tell any of you... I was sort of impatient. However, I have recieved my nine lives!" The she-cat yowled loudly. Her voice held a lot of excitement, and pride. The brown tabby leader paused a moment to calm herself.
"We also have the matter of code changes. We will temporally set the apprentice age to four moons. Apprentices will stay in camp until six moons, though." The she-cat impatiently waited for her clans reaction. Her tail flicked back and forth.

Brightpaw got to her paws as her eyes at the call of a meeting. She stayed quiet and listened, her tail flicked before getting to her paws and her tail flicked in anger. Before getting to her paws "Are you mouse brained? 6 moons is the age for a reason!" she looks around before shuffling her paws awkwardly and sitting down.
i'm a loaded gun the only son but i'm nobody's heroThe skinny tom had been out hunting, alone. He hadn't had much success in his endeavour, but he wasn't returning empty-pawed. A small hare dangled from his jaws as he slipped into WindClan's camp, catching the tail end of Hawkshadow's call. He dropped the hare onto the fresh-kill pile, then gracefully padded over to take his new place just below the boulder their leader stood on. He watched with silent eyes as the small Clan gathered around, awaiting the words of their leader.
"I know I didn't tell any of you... I was sort of impatient. However, I have received my nine lives!" Weaselbelly's eyes narrowed slightly. So, she had gone alone, and didn't even see it fit to tell her deputy? What a fantastic leader she was turning out to be. He remained silent, though, as Hawkshadow, now Hawkstar, continued. "We also have the matter of code changes. We will temporally set the apprentice age to four moons. Apprentices will stay in camp until six moons, though." As soon as the age slipped from her mouth, he knew she would meet resistance. His bright gold eyes darkened.
She had named him as her deputy, but she didn't see it fit to talk to him before making such dramatic decisions? Ah well. He really didn't want to have this discussion in front of the Clan, but it seemed he had no choice. Before he could speak, one of the apprentices spoke up. "Are you mouse brained? 6 moons is the age for a reason!" After the apprentice, Brightpaw, was it? sat down, Weaselbelly rose to his paws, long tail slowly flowing side to side behind him.
"Hawkstar presents a valid point. With no warriors and few apprentices, perhaps some temporary changes should be made." His eyes drifted from one cat to another, meeting each gaze and gauging reactions. "I agree that we should start teaching apprentices earlier, but four moons is a little too young." He looked up at Hawkstar. "Perhaps it would be best to teach kits, at five moons, the basics of hunting, crouches, and how to hunt specific prey. I do agree, however, that no kit should be allowed to leave the camp before their true apprentice age."
His gaze drifted back around to the cats before him. "Kits would not receive their apprentice names before their sixth moon, nor would they leave the nursery, but they would begin simple training within the confines of the camp." Having stated his piece, Weaselbelly lowered his hindquarters into a seated position, his tail wrapping around his paws. It was a bold move, challenging the decisions of their leader, but it was something that had to be done. He was the deputy, and without any senior warriors, he was the leader's only advisor. It was her fault that he had to state his ideas before the entire Clan; she hadn't discussed it with him first. If he faced negative consequences, very well then. He only wanted what was best for the Clan. And if that meant challenging the words of Hawkstar, then so be it.

Hawkstar had trouble keeping her anger within as the apprentice challenged her in a such a way. As Weaselbelly spoke Hawkstar felt a pang of guilt as she realized she hadn't discussed her nine lives with her deputy, or her code change idea. As the black tom spoke she tilted her head. Her anger lessened as her deputy proved he understood why this change was needed.
"Weaselbelly has a point. Five moons seems to be a compromise... They shall simply begin basic hunting and defense training with mentors," Her eyes glanced at Weaselbelly. She would have to make an apology to the tom afterwards, and she knew it. "I can't let excitement get in my way anymore... To much is at stake..." The queen scolded herself angrily.
"this brings me to my next point... Apprentices need mentors. I will talk with Weaselbelly and maybe tommarow we can have some ceromonies..." Her voice trailed off. She was thinking of all the ways she had failed her clan. What if she did it again with the apprentices? No. She needed to stop being so harsh. Everyone makes mistakes, right?
